Adventure Time: Pirates of the Enchiridion blends exploration, puzzles, sailing, and turn-based RPG combat. Success comes from making good use of every party member, upgrading equipment consistently, and exploring every island thoroughly before moving the story forward.
Switch Characters Frequently
Finn, Jake, BMO, and Marceline all have unique field abilities and combat roles. If you cannot reach a collectible or solve a puzzle, try switching characters before assuming you've missed something.
Talk to Every NPC
Many optional quests, clues, rewards, and humorous conversations come from speaking with everyone you meet. Side quests also provide useful experience and extra loot that make later battles easier.
Explore Every Island Completely
Before leaving an island, search every corner for treasure chests, collectibles, crafting materials, and hidden paths. Some upgrades are tucked away behind simple environmental puzzles that are easy to overlook.
Upgrade Equipment Regularly
Weapons and accessories make a significant difference in combat. Visit shops whenever possible and compare equipment rather than saving all of your money for later.
Use Status Effects Wisely
Several abilities inflict useful status effects such as slowing enemies or reducing their effectiveness. These are often more valuable than simply dealing direct damage, especially during tougher encounters.
Manage Team Synergy
Each party member fills a different role. Finn excels at physical attacks, Jake offers utility and support, Marceline deals strong damage, while BMO provides useful technical abilities. Build strategies around their strengths instead of relying on one character.
Heal Before Boss Battles
Major encounters can last several turns. Enter every boss fight with full health, stocked healing items, and abilities ready instead of hoping to recover during the fight.
Use Buffs Early
Support abilities become much stronger when used during the opening turns of battle. Increasing damage or improving defenses early often saves more health than healing later.
Don't Ignore Side Quests
Optional missions provide experience, currency, better equipment, and additional story moments. Completing them helps keep your party properly leveled without needing to grind.
Use the Navigation App Often
The Navigation App makes traveling across the flooded Land of Ooo much easier. Check it frequently to avoid sailing in the wrong direction or missing nearby objectives.
Fire the Ship's Cannon Whenever Needed
Your ship is more than transportation. Use its cannon when opportunities arise during exploration to interact with objects or deal with hazards encountered while sailing.
Save Before Important Decisions
Although the game autosaves regularly, creating manual saves before difficult battles or major story moments lets you experiment with different strategies without losing progress.
Keep Plenty of Healing Items
Healing items are inexpensive compared to losing a difficult fight. Always restock whenever you visit a shop so you're prepared for unexpected encounters.
Read Ability Descriptions
Many skills have additional effects beyond their listed damage. Some lower enemy defenses, affect turn order, or work better in combination with another character's abilities.
Take Your Time Exploring
The game rewards curiosity with collectibles, jokes, hidden treasure, and references to the Adventure Time series. Rushing through the main story means missing much of what makes the adventure enjoyable.
